Welcome

Hello and welcome to the Janitor Programmer's website. In this forum I'm hoping that we'll be able to discuss various facts of development and maintenance of software, good programming practices and just about anything else you feel like talking about. Sometimes you just need a place to go vent. Who knows, it may even turn into a fruitful discussion or debate.

I reserve the right to pull any posts that appear problematic, but I'm not planning on doing that. I've posted my share of inflammatory posts on various boards, so it would have to be pretty grievous to get pulled. There are only two basic rules. Be civil. Excessive use of foul language won't get your post pulled, but it will go a long way in making yuu sound stupid. And there probably is not a need to be overly insulting. Heated discussions happen. I've found that those I can get through often teach me something.

I've done some rudimentary testing with the boards and they do seem to be able to take and render Unicode correctly, so if I should be lucky enough to attract non-ASCII speaking folks, everything should work. If there is a problem, please let me know and I'll do what I can to rectify it. This is a simple PHP/mySQL combo, so if you do see an issue and can even offer a solution, I'm always willing to learn.
